What I Took Away from Google I/O Connect India 2025

Participating in Google I/O Connect India 2025 was one of those days that reminds you why being in the room still matters, even in a field that moves as fast as web development and AI. A full day spent alongside technology leaders, developers, and innovators from across the country, all circling the same question: what does it actually take to build well in this next phase of the web?

I went in expecting sessions and swag. I left with a sharper sense of where my own team, and my own thinking, needs to go next.

A Platform Built for Exchange, Not Just Announcements

What stood out about Google I/O Connect India wasn't a single headline feature. It was the format itself — sessions, exhibits, and open networking spaces designed to put developers and technology leaders in the same conversation, rather than just facing the same stage.

That structure changes what you actually take away from an event like this. Instead of just absorbing a keynote, you're comparing notes with people solving similar problems in different contexts — different industries, different team sizes, different constraints.

The Sessions: Where Web Development Is Actually Heading

A large part of the day focused on the practical edges of modern web development — where Google's tools and broader industry trends are pushing designers and developers next.

A few threads carried through multiple sessions:

Representing Spanidea, and Bringing Perspective Back

Attending as part of the Spanidea team meant thinking about this day slightly differently — not just as personal learning, but as something to bring back and share.

A few sessions on AI-assisted development workflows and modern design systems stood out specifically because I could already picture how they'd apply to projects we're working on.

What's Next

Events like Google I/O Connect India are valuable exactly because they're not neutral information — they're filtered through a room full of people actively building, actively disagreeing, actively excited or skeptical about the same ideas.
